BTC Announces its new Acting Principal/ President

In the light of Prof. Martin’s recent retirement as Principal of the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the role of Acting Principal/ President will be ably filled by Prof. Gregory Cedric Pereira, the current Dean of Studies.

Dr ‘Piff’, as he’s fondly known enters his fifteenth year of tenure at BTC and is excellently qualified with two doctorates. His first Doctorate in New Testament Studies– Paul’s and John’s Writings (from the University of Johannesburg), and the second in Old Testament Studies – Exodus (from the University of Pretoria). Prof. Piff is a regular publisher in academic journals and holds his Professorship from North-West University in Potchefstroom.

Dr Piff is married to Vercia and has three adult children and five grandchildren. In addition to his role at BTC he currently serves as a Pastor at Grace Community Church in Fourways, alongside another faculty member; Dr Terrel Manikam.

We are pleased that Dr Piff will serve as the Acting Principal as we begin the search for a new Principal/ President in 2017. He brings with him vast leadership experience within our organization, having served as a lecturer first and as Dean of Studies. He has an intimate knowledge of our academic programs, accreditation requirements and constituency. May you know God’s rich blessing as you serve in this role, and we thank each of our supporters and students for their continued prayer and encouragement in making BTC a world-class African Seminary.
