What does our new degree offering mean to you?

BTC is an accredited Private Higher Education Institution. Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa is an Association incorporated under section 21 Reg. No. 2003/019542/08 BTC is registered with the Department of Education as a Private Higher Education Institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997.Registration Certificate N0 2000/HE08/004.

 

Find out more about what the recent changes in our degree programs mean for you. We’re teaching out the following degrees:

  1. Our Master of Theology degree remains intact and requires high-level research, an oral examination, dissertation and publishable article. This degree continues to grow in popularity.
  2. Bachelor of Theology (480 Credit- prior 2017) and implementing a new Bachelor of Theology (480 Credit, NQF level 8) program with no exit until 4th-year graduation. The new degree does not require articulation from the Diploma in Theology or equivalent 3-year (360 Credit) degree.
  3. Diploma in Theology (360 Credits- prior 2017) and implementing a new Bachelor of Biblical Studies (360 Credit, NQF level 7). This new degree is not a pre-requisite for entry into our Bachelor of Theology degree, and is a stand-alone degree and students do not normally articulate from the B.Bib to a B.Th program without the loss of credits as defined by the Institution’s policy and governing legislation.
  4. Certificate in ministry (120 Credit, NQF level 5) and implementing a Higher Certificate in Ministry with specialization in either youth ministry, missions, pastoral or counselling. This new degree is not a pre-requisite for entry into our Bachelor of Biblical Studies or Bachelor of Theology degrees and is a stand-alone certificate degree. Students do not normally articulate from the Higher Certificate to any of our other programs without the loss of credits as defined by the Institution’s policy and governing legislation (a maximum of 50% can be carried forward into our B.Bib and B.Th programs).
  5.  Certificate in Theology (120 Credit, NQF level 5) and implementing a Higher Certificate in Theology. This new degree is not a pre-requisite for entry into our Bachelor of Biblical Studies or Bachelor of Theology degrees and is a stand-alone certificate degree. Students do not normally articulate from the Higher Certificate to any of our other programs without the loss of credits as defined by the Institution’s policy and governing legislation (a maximum of 50% can be carried forward into our B.Bib and B.Th programs).
